Judging from the response to the screening and the questioning afterwards it seems the film was warmly received and my presence there appreciated. What more can a director ask?

The standard of the other films was excellent, a rich diversity of stories, strong and thought provoking. A great achievement by Jane Turrittin, Eric Cader, Kaba Diakite, and Martine Duviella, the small dedicated team who put the programme together in such an inspired fashion. It was a weekend of enjoyment, learning, exchanging stories, making new friends and appreciating other cultures. The importance of attending these events cannot be over emphasised for all the reason we know only too well - representing your country in the international market place, making new contacts and your work reaching a completely different audience.

I'm grateful to both Scottish Screen and the British Council for their support in getting me across that big wide ocean to this unique event and being instrumental in helping break down those colour barriers. (Back to articles page)
